Combined Medical Services Examination

What is CMS?? CMS stands for Combined Medical Service. Union Public service commission (UPSC) conducts the CMS examination for recruitment of candidates for services in railways, central health service, Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

The written examination of CMS is conducted every year in January. However announcement for MCS exam is made in the month of August every year. The examiner is permitted to apply for more than one services like railways, central health service as well as Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

Eligibility:

To apply for CMS examination candidate must have completed M.B.B.S degree. Candidates who have yet to appear for the final year of M.B.B.S. are also permitted to appear for the examination, but their results declared only after submitting the proof stating that they have passed the final examination of the M.B.B.S.
Also candidates who have not yet finished their compulsory internship are eligible to appear for the exam. But if they get selected their appointment to the position require them to complete the internship.

Age Limit:

Age limit is also one of the eligibility criteria for the examination. Candidate below 32 age can apply for the exam. He/she must not have attained age 32.

CMS Application Form

You can get the CMS application form from the elected post offices or the post offices across the country. The form fee is just Rs. 20/-. Formed filled appropriately along with the acknowledgement card should be sent to addressing to The Secretary, Union Public service Commission, Dholpur House, New Delhi 110011 in the only special envelope that you got with the information brochure.

IAS Exam Pattern

Examination
The pattern of IAS exam has two successive stages- Preliminary Examination and Main Examination. This competitive examination for civil services is being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).

Preliminary examination is of intention type which is a qualifying examination, while the main examination includes written examination and interview.

Generally the preliminary examination is held in May-June, while the main exam is held in October/ November. Candidate must start preparing well for the main exam after the preliminary exam because they get little time after that for the main exam.

A candidate is allowed to have four attempts of the test. If a candidate appears in the beginning exam or else even appears for just one paper then also it is counted as an attempt.

Entry to Indian forest service is based on written test which is held in the Jul/ August every year. The test includes two compulsory papers that are of general English and general knowledge. However there are two other subjects also which candidate has to choose from following subjects, except the combinations of subject agriculture and agricultural engineering, chemistry and chemical engineering.

•Paper IV&V: General Studies (300 marks for each (IV and V))
•Paper VI-IX: Two optional subjects selected by candidate (300 marks each)

Time Limit: 3 hours each paper

Civil Services: IAS Examination

What is I.A.S?? I.A.S is the Institute for Advanced Study. Mainly civil service is the spine of the India. State administration runs there all department of machinery constitutes. In career civil services is the best field. India’s greatest intelligence can enter into Indian civil services as officers.

After the exam of I.A.S students can get good salaries in big industrial companies. But there are combined competitive exams for I.A.S and I.P.S, Examination for the civil services conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service commission).

Nationality:

•Candidate must be a citizen of India. Only Indian citizens are eligible for IAS and IPS examination.
•For other services students can be either the following:

1.a citizen of India, otherwise
2.a subject of Bhutan, otherwise
3.a subject of Nepal, otherwise
4.Tibetan refugee (Arrived over to India before 1st January, 1962) with the purpose of permanent settlement in India, or
5.NRI (migrated from east African countries of Kenya , Tanzania, Pakistan, srilanka, Zambia, Ethiopia, Vietnam with the purpose of permanent settlement in India)

Age Limits:
For appearing the exam of IAS and IPS, a candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age 30 years on August 1St 2005.
